Retro Basta! Opening day 1989!

We came across this old photo of Basta from 1989 and have been reminiscing all weekend. It looks like the chalk sign reads "Opening at 3:30PM" - and someone is actually in the process of hanging the "Open" banner on the roof! You will notice that the right windows read "Gourmet Shop" - this is where we originally used to sell sauces, pasta and other take-home food.
