Basta welcomes Peter Lowre as General Manager

Born and raised in Boston, MA, Peter has spent most of his life and career in the New England area. While always an avid fan of cuisine, Peter's first taste of the hospitality industry was experienced while he was in college, where he worked part-time for renowned caterers Gilbert and Davis. Various restaurant positions led to a management opportunity with the Barrett Family Restaurants, based on Boston’s South Shore.

Casual dining was fun but Peter yearned for exposure to a finer dining experience, which brought him to the award winning restaurant Tosca in Hingham, MA. There he was able to gain experience and a full appreciation for fine wine, service, and culinary excellence. Most recently, as a multi-unit manager with the Back Bay Restaurant Group, Peter has exceeded expectations in helping develop several successful area restaurants. Married to his wife Marie for close to thirty years, and the father of a teenage daughter, Peter understands the value of relationships and the importance of being an active community member.

With his experience, dedication to detail and his fabulous personality, Peter was a natural choice for Basta. He has joined the team as Basta's Manager and looks forward to meeting and exceeding the expectations of regulars and new guests alike.
